In the Beginning
Melanie’s Florals
I had my first taste of designing a wedding bouquet not long after graduating from Penn State with a degree in Horticulture. It was a natural, flowing wild flower bouquet for my brother’s lovely bride. The wedding took place on a mountain pass in Breckenridge, Colorado. Although it was June, it had snowed that morning. The mountain peaks were snow covered while we enjoyed a beautiful summer day ceremony below. It was a magical introduction to the wedding business and custom designing a bouquet for a bride.
Years later I decided to parlay my knowledge, talent and passions into Melanie’s Florals, a wedding and event floral business. This home-based venture allowed me to balance my business and young family. Melanie’s Florals quickly became a preferred vendor for many local wedding venues.
As the flower business and my children grew, our next phase presented itself…

Bloom by Melanie, a full service flower shop, was the next step in our floral evolution. We provide flowers, plants and gifts for all occasions in addition to continuing to work with engaged couples to design their wedding flower vision. After over 25 years in the floral industry, I still love what I do and enjoy sharing this love with my customers and colleagues.
